Just a free tool that works
BROdesktop is made by BRO.TJ. This is our manifesto — why it exists, what we believe, and why you can trust it.
Why we built it
Everyone needs remote access: helping your parents with their PC, fixing a friend's laptop, supporting a client. But the usual apps are either expensive, cut the free version down to useless, or constantly nag you to pay.
At BRO.TJ we decided to do the opposite: a tool you just download — and it works. Free. No tricks.
Our principles
Free and honest
No forced donations, subscriptions or hidden fees. It's free today, and we won't force you to pay. If support for the project ever appears, it will be voluntary only.
Your privacy
The connection goes directly between devices (P2P) and is AES-256 encrypted. We don't see your screen, don't record sessions and don't trade your data.
Protecting people
Remote access is often abused by scammers. That's why BROdesktop has built-in warnings before a connection, a blocklist of scammer IDs and one-click reporting.
Openness
We're honest about what's inside: BROdesktop is based on the open-source RustDesk and runs through our own servers. No lies about how it works.
Simplicity
Download and it works. You can start right away without signing up (with a daily time limit). A free sign-up removes the limit and unlocks the address book.
How we're different
In short — why BROdesktop instead of AnyDesk or TeamViewer:
Free, not crippled
After a free sign-up: no daily limit and no nagging pop-ups.
Our own server
Traffic goes through our servers — lower latency, your data doesn't go to third parties.
Scam protection
Built-in anti-fraud that ordinary apps don't have.
For everyone
A multilingual interface and simple, readable IDs with a BRO prefix.
Why it may look suspicious — and why it's all honest
We're a young project. The app doesn't yet have an expensive code-signing certificate, so on launch Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” and marks the publisher as unknown. That's how the system reacts to any new program without a paid certificate — it doesn't mean the app is dangerous.
We know trust has to be earned, so we say plainly what we do and don't do.
What BROdesktop does NOT do
- Doesn't mine cryptocurrency or secretly load your computer.
- Doesn't track or spy on you.
- Doesn't show ads.
- Doesn't sell or share your data.
How to check for yourself
- The connection is AES-256 encrypted and the server key is verified on every connection.
- You can scan the file with any antivirus or on VirusTotal.
- It's built on the open-source RustDesk; our site and contacts are public.
Over time we'll add a code-signing certificate and the warning will disappear.
